The short answer, using Ava Travel’s own prices: the classic Vietnam honeymoon is 12 to 14 days: two nights in Hanoi, a night on a Halong or Lan Ha Bay cruise in a cabin with a balcony, three nights in Hoi An, and four or five nights on a beach. Booked with Ava Travel, with a private guide and driver it costs about $127 per person per day in 3 and 4-star hotels, or about $218 per day in 5-star. Ava Travel’s ready-made routes with a beach start at $1,452 per person; luxury ones run from about $2,571.
Prices are per person for two sharing, with hotels, private guide and car, entrance fees and the cruise night. International flights are not included, and on most routes neither are the one or two domestic flights.

1. Classic north to south with a beach (11 to 12 days)

When to go
Vietnam is long, so the weather is never perfect everywhere at once. As a rule:
- February to April is the best all-round window for a north-to-south honeymoon: mild in Hanoi and Halong, dry in Hoi An and the south.
- November to April for Phu Quoc and the southern beaches (dry season).
- Avoid October to December in Hoi An if the beach matters: it is the rainy season on the central coast.
